Saginaw County and the Great Lakes Bay Region are leading the State of Michigan in transitioning to a new economy that blends the past with the future. Advanced Manufacturing and Agribusiness are traditional industry sectors that have been rejuvenated through innovation and determination.

Opportunities in Renewable Energy and Medical Technology have also led to millions of dollars in new investment and the creation of knowledge-based jobs. We have also seen advancement in Professional Services and a resurgence in the Automobile Industry. 

Over the past year, SF was also able to secure over $16 million in infrastructure and community development grants for Saginaw County. These funds will help support the development of a renewable energy park and reduce costs through energy audits of public buildings.

The Saginaw Future Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) worked with dozens of Great Lakes Bay companies that won over 700 government contracts valued at more than $20 million. These contracts help diversify markets and stabilize the local economy.
