- (December 7, 2010) First Large-Scale Michigan Wind Turbine Manufacturing
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced a significant power purchase agreement between Consumers Energy and Traverse City-based Heritage Sustainable Energy that will result in the first large-scale production of utility-scale wind turbines fully made in Michigan. The agreement was celebrated today by the parties, together with wind turbine manufacturer Northern Power Systems and key supplier Merrill Technologies Group, at a press conference in Lansing.

The Saginaw Future Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) assisted eight regional companies attain more than $11.3 million in government contracts in the second quarter of 2010. The companies won a total of 271 state and federal government contracts.

The companies won a total of 186 state and federal government contracts. The numerous products and services provided include technology services, metal fabrication and medical device products.
