Lake State Railway Company
& Saginaw Bay Southern Railway
Lake State Railway Company has acquired specific rail properties in the
City of Saginaw area, totaling approximately 67 miles. "The Saginaw
Cluster" lines run northward from Mt. Morris to Saginaw, with branches
to Bay City, Midland and Paines.
Lake State operates the Saginaw Cluster under the name
Saginaw Bay Southern (SBS) and began official operations in October 2006. SBS also renovated former CSX offices on
750 N. Washington Ave. in the
City of Saginaw, adjacent to the Potter Street Depot. The multi-million
dollar
investment and renovation created 25 new jobs.
