SAGINAW, MI -- Thomson Saginaw Ball Screw
Company, LLC was awarded the Michigan Technical Assistance Center (MTAC)
"Contractor of the Year" award Thursday in a presentation at the
company's headquarters.
In her role with the Michigan Technical Assistance Center (MTAC), Delena
Spates-Allen, Procurement Manager at Saginaw Future Inc., chose Thomson
Saginaw for the first annual award.
"This award is based on a company's continued efforts to provide quality
products and services to the Federal Government, the State of Michigan,
and the local government.," said Spates-Allen. "Thomson, because of its
consistency, efforts and patience, has been awarded numerous contracts
that in return have assisted in the creation and retention of jobs that
provide economic development within this community."
Accepting the award on behalf of Thomson Saginaw was John E. Kinney,
P.E., Director of Product/Marketing, Aerospace, Government, and Defense.
Also on hand was Robert A. White, Executive General Manager.
Thomson Saginaw Ball Screw was chosen to receive the award after
providing the federal government with millions of dollars worth of
products, and has been consistent in winning numerous contracts, which
have led to continuous economic development in Saginaw County.
Assisting with the presentation were Mike Goschka, State Senator 33rd
District, State Representative Carl Williams of the 95th District, and
Mary Washington, Community Affairs Director, US Senator Carl Levin's
office.
DCMC of Detroit was represented by Col. Alvin Leonard, Commander; Hugh
Schmidt, Director of Operations; and Howard Schmidt, Industrial
Specialist.
Spates-Allen represents one of 12 regional procurement centers in
Michigan and each region is presenting awards this year. |
