MEDC Supports Morley Project
October, 2008
The
Michigan Economic
Development Corporation (MEDC) and Saginaw Future Inc. are both proud to
support Morley
Companies, Inc. new expansion project through key investment incentives
that enabled the company to keep the project in Saginaw Charter Township.
Morley plans to invest $1.7
million at its Saginaw facility to support a high-tech project that involves
maintaining database information, generating client derived statistics,
associated reporting and call center data capture activities. Based on the
MEDC’s recommendation, the Michigan Economic Growth Authority board approved
a state tax credit valued at $2.8 million over five years to win the
company’s investment over competing sites in Canada, Oregon and Texas.
To support the project, the
Saginaw Midland Bay Michigan Works! will make available up to $20,000 in
incumbent worker training funds.
Christopher J. Furlo, Executive
Vice President of Morley Companies, Inc., One Morley Plaza, Saginaw,
Michigan, announced today that as a result of a new, multi-year contract
with a nationwide market research provider, Morley will add 90 new,
full-time associates in its Morley Interactive group.
The new positions will be located on Morley’s 13-acre campus
in Saginaw Charter Township. These Morley associates will be providing
outsourced business processing services for several international OEM
automotive clients.
Furlo said, “This new opportunity for Morley represents a
critical step in securing additional revenue in domestically outsourced
business processing activities within Michigan and the United States by
allowing us to invest in technological infrastructure and personnel to
support these undertakings.”
