New Saginaw Future Inc. Procurement Technician

Sarah
Richardson has been hired as the new Procurement Technician for the Saginaw
Future Inc. Procurement and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).
Richardson is a recent
graduate of Albion College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, where she
received multiple awards, such as Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude and
multiple selections to the Dean's List.
Richardson will assist and
educate businesses in government procurement processes in such areas as
market research, marketing, training, and bid proposal preparation.
The position was made
possible through the allocation of a $10.0 million grant to support the
development and creation of a Defense Contract Coordination Center (DC3) in
order to assist Michigan companies in securing more federal defense and
homeland security procurement contracts. Retired U.S. Marine Corps Major
General Bradley M. Lott is the head of Michigan's DC3.
Richardson held a number
of research positions at Albion College through its Sociology Department and
Foundation. She also co-wrote a number of socioeconomic publications and
presentations.
A Saginaw native, she
worked for Wanigas Credit Union and is involved with a number of community
activities, such as student mentoring.
During 2007, the Saginaw
Future Inc. PTAC helped area companies win a total of 182 government
contracts with a total value of more than $3.6 million. Consultation on
exporting products and/or services internationally is also provided.
