Cassi Zimmerman

Cassi earned her undergraduate degree from Ball State University in Urban Planning and Development, with a minor in Real Estate Development. She is currently enrolled in the MPA program at Central Michigan University and is taking courses to become certified in economic development by the International Economic Development Council. With her background in Urban Planning she has utilized her skills to collaborate with communities throughout Saginaw County in various capacities. Her duties include working with businesses and developers to bring projects to fruition as well as managing the city's Downtown Development Authority, and assisting in the City's Planning and Zoning Department.

She is one of the founding members of The Great Mural Project, a community art initiative focused on creating opportunities for community involvement through art and beautifying underutilized public spaces in Saginaw. Since 2018, the organization has installed six murals in Riverfront Saginaw. She is also on the advisory committee for the Entrepreneurship Program at the Saginaw Career Complex and the planning committee for the Holidays in the Heart of the City, Christmas parade.
