Letter from the Chair
It is my pleasure to Chair an organization that has helped spur tremendous growth in Saginaw County in 2023. This is also a time to recognize the fantastic opportunity that the Canadian Hockey League 2024 Memorial Cup presented by Dow will bring to Saginaw and the entire Great Lakes Bay Region in just a few months. We all are preparing for the renowned tournament and supporting our Saginaw Spirit.
Multi-million-dollar expansions in advanced manufacturing led the way in 2023 from Amigo Mobility in Bridgeport to Saginaw Control and Engineering in Thomas Township. We assisted four projects that total $22 million to address housing needs. Core Saginaw County companies continue to develop and add new opportunities, such as Shaheen Development, Morley Companies, Nexteer and MERRILL.
And yes, we are preparing for the Memorial Cup from the Symphony Lane Placemaking project to administering the Saginaw DDA, which supported 10 façade grants that total nearly $380,000 in complete project costs.

SAGINAW FUTURE 2023 ANNUAL REPORT
Established in 1992, SFI is a private, non-profit economic development organization. SFI is an alliance of local businesses, the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce, the County and City of Saginaw, 16 local municipalities, education, labor organizations and local foundations.
Saginaw Future assists companies to secure or identify funding sources, incentive packaging, provides site location services, pursues government contracts, connects with export assistance, job training and other resources. SFI also serves as an advocate for business investment projects, connects with resources to address workforce needs and serves as a community liaison through our service contracts with local and state government partners. SFI also continues to promote efforts to attract and develop talent.

Saginaw Future works with an 8-county region that includes Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Midland and Saginaw Counties. The region is working on several initiatives, such as business attraction efforts.
