26 Companies Honored for Growth

Saginaw, Mich., part of the Great Lakes Bay Region, March 12, 2021 The Saginaw Future Inc. (SFI) 29th ANNUAL MEETING has gone digital! We are in the middle of a digital media campaign highlighting the successful projects and initiatives from 2020 through social media, videos, our annual report, award winning Web site and more.

SFI is honoring 26 developments announced in 2020 valued at nearly $356 million that will create and retain 583 jobs. These projects represent significant growth in manufacturing and service industries in communities throughout Saginaw County, especially with all of the challenges of COVID-19.  In addition to the Economic Excellence Awards, Amigo Mobility International was selected as the Saginaw Future Procurement Technical Assistance Center Contractor of the Year.

“Despite the challenges due to COVID-19, the Saginaw County business community had an excellent year and the numbers support that,” said Saginaw Future Inc. 2020-2021 Chairman Mark Thompson of Mobile Medical Response, Inc. “In addition to pivoting in business, I am so proud of our Saginaw County companies that developed and donated PPE and sanitizer, made financial contributions and volunteered their time to help fight COVID and aid in the aftermath of the flood.”

Like the business community, SFI shifted its focus by working with the State of Michigan and business leaders to administer 642 Small Business Relief Grants for a total of nearly $2.7 million in Saginaw County.

"Saginaw Future is extremely thankful for the small business relief funds that came from the State, businesses, foundations and directly from local business leaders, and we encourage our residents to continue to support small businesses," said Saginaw Future Inc. President JoAnn Crary. "Saginaw Future also provided over 250 communications on COVID-19 and flood recovery information, along with tools for businesses and communities."
