We also have top technical talent and a skilled manufacturing workforce - all of whom benefit from convenient access to premier educational institutions. Saginaw County is home to five universities and two community colleges and has recently invested $14 million in STEM education initiatives at the college level.
Saginaw Valley State University and Delta College have locations in Saginaw. Northwood University, Alma College, Davenport University, and Mid Michigan Community College are all located in the Region. Together, they offer a wide variety of educational opportunities to more than 45,000 students.

Internship Programs & Resources
Michigan STEM Forward is a statewide program of Michigan Economic Development Corporation that matches students attending Michigan colleges and universities with internship opportunities at the state’s leading innovative companies. Companies do not have to be in a specific industry, but all internships must be STEM-focused. STEM Forward provides students meaningful career experience and promotes job retention in the state, while providing financial support to companies who hire these interns.
