Grant Funding Available for Workforce Training Center Equipment

The State of Michigan has allocated $3 million to implement the Michigan Workforce Training Center Equipment Grant Program to support the needs of qualified training providers that offer workforce training for qualified employers and individuals in Michigan. Workforce training includes, but is not limited to, talent enhancement, increasing worker productivity, development of workforce skills, leadership and management training, as well as worker retention.
The program provides funding to 15 local or nonprofit economic development organizations, or their designees, who are responsible for accepting, reviewing and approving applications from providers in their geographic region. The application window will close on Jan. 19, 2022, at 5 p.m.
Grant Focus
- Because there are very limited funds available to grant, preference will be given to applications from registered USDOL joint apprenticeship training centers (one of the eligible categories). Click to go to the East Central Michigan Registered Apprenticeship Dashboard.
- Preference will also be given to training for in-demand positions.
- All applicants must be located in Saginaw County or Bay County, Michigan.
